The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award equips young people for life and work. Participants design their own unique program that challenges them to set and meet goals, while forging qualities of strength, resolve and commitment. Open to young people aged 14 to 25, the Award is run in over 140 countries and is available at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Each of these levels has four Sections – Skill, Service, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journeys. Additionally, the Gold Award has a fifth Section – the Residential Project. For more information, visit Queensland Government’s D of E webpage.
Northpine Christian College is proud to be able to offer this Award to students from Years 9-12 as an extra-curricular option, although some of it can be done during school hours.
It is a very personal program that offers young people a structure to fulfil their passions and ambitions in a way that suits them.
“This Duke of Edinburgh trip is definitely one I am going to remember forever. Although it was super hard and challenging, I can look back on the experience and see the amazing things my team and I have achieved.”
